Our Name

When using our name in a marketing context, please refer to us as South Dakota Mines. Do not use variations or abbreviations of any kind e.g., Tech, SD Mines, SDSM&T, SDSMT.

Our university seal bears the constitutional name of our institution: South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. This name is appropriate as an element of the official South Dakota Mines seal, but it should never be referenced in marketing or PR materials.

The primary horizontal logo with tagline should be the default choice. If space allows for the tagline version of the logo, please use it. At smaller sizes, the tagline may become unreadable. In this instance, using one of the other versions of the logo is preferred.
